If you have never played in a tennis ladder before it's a great way for new players to get started. Here are the basics... No matter where you start on the ladder, after a period of time you will end up playing games with people of similar ability. If you improve, you are likely to go up the ladder but you will then be playing against harder opponents. If you wish to take a break from the ladder (e.g. you are away for 6 months) then you can do so by clicking on 'take a break' from the admin page (you need to be logged in to access this page).
When you are ready to make a challenge, go to the rankings page (you must be logged in first). When you move the computer cursor over the player list, you will highlighted the players you are allowed to challenge. Then, click on the player you wish to challenge and follow the instructions. In order to play your match you must be a member of the ladder. The ladder rules are below.
*********** PLEASE NOTE - SUBMITTING SCORES - *********** WHEN SUBMITTING RULES, YOU ARE ONLY TO SUBMIT THE TOTAL NUMBER OF SETS THAT WERE WON FOR EACH CORRESPONDING PLAYER. FOR EXAMPLE, A 6-4, 6-2 WIN IS TO BE RECORED AS 2 FOR THE WINNER AND 0 FOR THE LOSER.
IF YOU DON'T SUBMIT THE SCORES BEFORE THE DEADLINE, THE CHALLENGER WINS THE GAME.
IF YOU WRITE A TIGHT SCORE (0-0; 1-1; 2-2), THE CHALLENGER WINS THE GAME. |
